This is just not my day!

When one is sad, distressed, angry or overwhelmed, some people will have a tendency to magnify and to prolong those feelings, unconsciously.

This tendency is acting nearly like a “reflex” reaction, as we might have trained this reaction for years.

Therefore, once our emotions are triggered, the tendency of magnifying and/or prolonging that emotion(s) could be AUTOMATICALLY TURNED ON.

If you no longer wish to be leashed by your emotions severely, how about trying a game changer? So that your emotions could be less turbulent, and could be resumed calmer in a much quicker and easier way.

Next time, when you become aware of the surge of those emotions, perhaps you could try : To name it and say it to yourself in a gentle, calm and an objective way :
“This is just not my day!”
Yes, just acknowledge that “this is just not my day! “ - gently, calmly and objectively.

And then continue to direct your attention to something neutral or pleasant + healthy, such as listening to neutral music (for music with strong emotional leads, perhaps we can keep it for later time when your emotions turn less intense); or simply re-focus yourself to what you are doing just now, such as walking or working etc.

Give a try! Just be kind to yourself!
