Charcoal Pencil – My New Musical Note

My art teacher has requested me to prepare a charcoal pencil by a piece of razor blade.
To me, pencil is always sharpened by a pencil sharpener.
Hence, I was a bit shocked when I heard this request. More importantly, I needed to grasp a bit of courage, to master a razor blade – something that I rarely use - to shave the charcoal pencil.
During my preparation of the charcoal pencil, I am surprised about my discoveries!
I aware that the original shape of my charcoal pencil is cylindrical!
I realize that my charcoal pencil is very fragile and could be broken very easily!
I learn that the whole preparation process requires a lot of caution and patience!
And surprisingly, I discover that I have that patience!
I indeed enjoy a lot throughout the whole preparation process!
At the same time, I have a new respect and gratefulness towards charcoal pencils and pencils!
Indeed we only need a bit of willingness – a willingness to accept changes ;
A bit of courage; plus
A bit of curiosity and mindfulness,
We could learn a bit more about ourselves,
Discover a bit more about lives, creating a new perspective and musical note in our life journeys!
